The Event
NEW!! The 17th Annual Texas Steak Cookoff kicks off Friday, May 15, 2020, with an exclusive COOKOFF KICKOFF & Taste of Hico party featuring Eleven Hundred Springs with Kati Rhodes at 7:00 pm at 101 Elm. Simultaneously, a FREE TO THE PUBLIC street dance will be held in front of the Post Office on First Street, featuring the music of Back Road Drifters.
The Steak Cookoff proper begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 16, 2020, in the Historic Downtown Business District of Hico, Texas. This family-friendly event offers a chance to look on as backyard chefs from all over the Southwest compete to see who cooks the best steak in Texas. Eat a steak and enjoy artisan vendors, local shopping, a magician & face painter for the kids, live music on the main stage, polka music at the Craft Beer tent (NEW!!) and a wandering mariachi band. There will also be a wine tasting featuring local Texas wineries.
Be sure to check back below for the Steak Cookoff Timeline (subject to change), so you can know when to be where. Oh, and be sure to buy your tickets today!
