The 2010 Texas Steak Cookoff was a huge success, and we give all the credit to not only the great cooks, but all our guests who come out for this incredible experience.

Wine Tasting - $20

Includes a commemorative Texas Steak Cook-Off wine glass, eight tastes of wine of your choice from a selection of Texas wineries, and the opportunity to talk with winery owners and Texas wine-makers.
Steak Dinner (VIP Seating) - $100

Our VIP Dinner was added in 2009. Guests will enjoy the special location complete with upscale amenities. Steaks will be prepared by a celebrity chef in an atmosphere of personal service and pampered dining.
Steak Dinner (Regular Seating) - $25

Our regular steak dinner ticket includes a 12oz ribeye steak, two sides, and a chance to win one of the many prizes that will be given away at the event.
Backyard and Celebrity Chefs

Chefs Competition

The 7th annual Texas Steak Cookoff will consist of three categories of competitors: Backyard Chefs, Hors d’ oeuvres Chefs, and Celebrity Chefs.

The Backyard Chef Competition is open to teams of true amateur Chefs who believe their steak grilling skills are the best in Texas! This division has a limited number of entries for Backyard Chef teams who bring their own grills and fuel (we provide the steaks). Teams are welcome to create individual themes for their cooking booth, but this is not required.

The Backyard Chefs compete for a Grand Prize of $2,500; Second Place wins $1,000; Third Place wins $750; Fourth Place wins $500; and Fifth Place wins $250!  Throughout the day the public is invited to interact with the Chefs and learn their secrets. At dinner time attendees will choose a Backyard Chef to prepare their steak.

In addition to the Backyard Chefs Competition teams can compete in The Hors d’oeuvres Competition – open not only to Backyard Chefs, but to any person who registers and submits hors d’oeuvres to be judged. The winning Hors d’oeuvres Chef will receive a cash prize of $300.

Finally we have our Celebrity Chefs Competition which is open by invitation only to Chefs who have accomplished notoriety and fame within their profession. Celebrity Chefs are invited to compete against each other and are judged by selected food critics and food editors from magazines and newspapers. The contestants will bring their own rib eye steaks for judging and identical charcoal grills will be provided for the competition.

Judging for Celebrity Chefs will take place first in order to allow them to return to their restaurants. There is one award given in this category, First Place! The winner will receive the coveted First Place Texas Steak Cookoff Gold and Silver Belt Buckle.

Winning Chefs in all categories will be promoted on the Texas Steak Cookoff website.

The Backyard Chefs competition is full. We are no longer accepting applications.
